Introduction

International relations are essential and obvious aspects of the ISC Paris School of Management’s regular activities. During the last generation, however, changes have occurred in the world scenario. Most of us have experienced a dramatic increase in international communication and exchange. To travel abroad is a matter of course for business as well as leisure purposes; mass media are internationalized; and French society has become significantly more multicultural. International contact and cooperation are evident in the daily activities of the private sector as well as public administration. This far-reaching internationalization of the last few decades has put new demands on higher education. Many initiatives have been launched to increase study abroad, often combining studies from different universities. Much work remains to be done to fully establish the new system and get it to function well.

New forms of international communication and cooperation have created new frameworks for research. It is important for France to manifest itself as a partner in European Union research programs as well as educational cooperation. Meanwhile new institutional modes of cooperation have also created some problems for basic research and higher education cooperation. Our basic philosophy at ISC Paris School of Management to see that business professionals and students trained at our School are equipped with international immersion, cultural interaction and multi-cultural competencies. We consider that business today is not limited to one country or culture, but to enormous blend of opportunities and realities unfamiliar and uncommon to one’s own lived experiences. There we stand to provide our students and graduates with opportunities for knowing further than their own culture and realities to a new world and new philosophy of diversity, difference and open-mindedness. More than the simple student exchanges, we look forward to provide opportunities for our students to meet international and visiting faculty members to know further and in detail about other means of living and experiencing higher education from and through academics from different parts of the world. Our international departments strive forward to diversity, internationalism and a greater philosophy of business education.
